Lodge Life

Experience Rustic Comfort in the Heart of the Wild

After a day exploring Denali’s untamed valleys, step back into a warm, welcoming community anchored in authentic Alaskan tradition. At Kantishna Roadhouse, lodge life balances modern comfort with deep-rooted history, giving you space to relax, indulge in remarkable cuisine, and connect with fellow travelers.

Remote, Rustic, & Cozy

This is truly your opportunity to unplug and experience peace and quiet while you explore the Alaskan Wilderness of Denali National Park. Due to our remote location, there is no radio, television, cell phone service or internet access at the Roadhouse. Let your friends, family and important business contacts know that you will be “off the grid” for a few days while you immerse yourself in nature! Whether waking up to the crisp mountain air or unwinding after a day of adventure, our cabins offer a cozy, intimate setting where the beauty of Alaska’s wild landscape becomes your home away from home.

Our spacious duplex style cabins include:

  • Two Full-Size Beds (we have a limited number of cabins with one queen bed available)
  • Down comforters and quilts
  • Private bathroom with shower
  • Warm rustic décor
  • Front porch

Accessible Cabins

For guests with mobility needs, Kantishna Roadhouse has accessible cabins with ramps for easy access. These cabins feature accessible showers and a larger floor plan than our other cabins to make them easier to navigate for guests traveling with a wheelchair or scooter. These cabins are centrally located and are a good choice for guests with limited mobility.

Meal Service at Kantishna Roadhouse

At Kantishna Roadhouse, meals are a great part of the experience. After a long day of hiking, biking, fishing and fun in Denali National Park, there is nothing better than a fine family-style dinner to bring people closer together.

All Meals Included

All Roadhouse meals are prepared with the freshest ingredients possible; in fact, some veggies are grown in our own backyard in our Alaskan-sized greenhouse. Breads and other scrumptious treats are baked fresh daily and we often feature salmon, halibut and cod from Alaskan waters.

  • Full Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: The Roadhouse features complete breakfasts, lunches and dinners. For guests going on day hikes, our kitchen prepares nutritious sack lunches for the trail.
  • 24/7 Beverage Station: A beverage station with coffee and tea is open throughout the day and evening and enjoying a mug of tea beside one of our many fireplaces is a treat at any time.
  • Special Dietary Needs: If you or your party requires special dietary needs, we are happy to oblige but we do need to know well in advance of your arrival.

The Saloon

Perhaps one of the most popular social areas at Kantishna Roadhouse is our saloon. Here you can enjoy a great selection of fine wines, Alaskan beers, as well as traditional spirits and libations. The saloon is a cozy place to sit together and play games, read, talk or just enjoy the scenery. Alaskan Beer and Wine included in the package price. Select “top shelf” liquors are available on site for purchase.

Lodge Grounds & Heritage

Located in the Kantishna Valley on the banks of Moose Creek, our private property is secluded and offers our guests an immersive natural retreat perfect for exploration and relaxation. The original Roadhouse at Kantishna was built in 1918, and served as a private residence, a community center, post office and informal hotel accommodations. Today, our property preserves that historical legacy while providing modern comfort and relaxation.
